Climate: Nature’s Symphony for Flawless Growth
The 2020 growing season gifted the vineyards with favorable climatic conditions, resulting in a wine of unparalleled quality. Spring graced the vines with dry and sunny days, setting the stage for early and even vine development. Subsequent generous rainfall in May and June replenished groundwater reserves, offsetting initial growth and ensuring optimal vine health. The moderate summer temperatures further safeguarded against water stress, nurturing the vines with care and precision. The climactic crescendo arrived in September, as significant temperature fluctuations between day and night ripened the grapes to perfection, brimming with vitality and flavor.
Harvest and Vinification: Craftsmanship Refined
At the pinnacle of ripeness, the grapes of Prunotto Moscato d’Asti were meticulously hand-harvested, preserving their delicate essence. With utmost gentleness, the grapes were crushed and pressed, extracting the aromatic wonders concealed within. The must, enriched with the essence of Moscato Bianco grapes, underwent a brief period of maceration to intensify its enchanting aromas. Alcoholic fermentation commenced in stainless steel vats, continuing until the wine reached a harmonious 5% alcohol content. To preserve its lively freshness, fermentation was halted by swiftly reducing the temperature. Finally, after careful clarification, filtration, and bottling, Prunotto Moscato d’Asti stood ready to captivate palates around the world.

Prunotto Moscato d’Asti DOCG 2021
The 2020 growing season did not present any particular problems or critical situations and was defined by mild temperatures and limited precipitation. The first half of spring was relatively dry and sunny resulting in early and even vine development. During the months of May and June, generous rainfall slowed down vegetative development offsetting initial growth, but provided excellent groundwater reserves. These climatic conditions, together with moderate summer temperatures, prevented the risk of water stress in the vineyards.
Regular cluster thinning was performed to regulate yields per vine and to favor perfect berry development. Favorable weather in the month of September, with significant temperature fluctuations between day and night, brought the grapes to optimal ripeness with perfectly healthy berries. The grape harvest took place during the first two weeks of September.
Harvest and Vinification
Hand-harvested grapes were delicately crushed before being pressed. The grape juice, known as must, was then left in the press for a short period to extract aromatic compounds. The initial, high-quality juice obtained from the pressing process was transferred into stainless steel vats for alcoholic fermentation.
This fermentation continued until the wine reached a 5% alcohol content, at which point the process was halted by rapidly reducing the temperature. Subsequently, the wine underwent clarification, filtration, and was finally bottled.
