Here is a bundle to try the most classic grape varieties from Georgia – Saperavi red and Rkatsiteli white.
Chateau Buera is the most prestigious winery from Georgia. It sits at the beautiful Lopota Lake Spa Resort with an incredibly designed chateau house. The Chateau incorporates both classic and ancient Georgian methods of wine production. It is actively growing and developing while working with a team of motivated and professional young people.
Chateau Buera’s philosophy of winemaking is based on the preservation of nature and the harmonious relationships of humans and ground, from the approaches of minimal intervention in the process of vine growing and winemaking, to restoring the rare Georgian varieties – creating high quality reserve Georgian wine.
The vineyards of Chateau Buera in the Napareuli, located in Kakheti, the largest wine region in Georgia, are spread on alluvial, rocky soils of the Northern slope and expand over 5 hectares of land. The Great Caucasus Mountains form a barrier that protects Georgia from the cold air of the North and leaves its Western ridge open to warm and humid air coming from the Black Sea, where the grape clusters are protected from extreme temperatures.
With 8000 years of winemaking history, Georgian is recognised by UNESCO as the birth place of wine. With Saperavi being the major variety of red wine production, there are many white grape varieties showing very different characteristics.
