Shaw + Smith Lenswood Chardonnay 2019

Dark straw, clear. Pronounced struck match, flinty notes on the nose, with creamy leesiness, ginger spice, lemon zest and delicate white florals. I could sit and smell this all day. Fresh, vibrant acidity, lemon juice, juicy white nectarine and grapefruit pith, subtle creaminess on the palate giving some richness and palate weight. Gentle phenolics and long length. Elegant and Burgundian in style, but still obviously New World. The Lenswood Chardonnay is the best wine of the S+S range, and the 2019 is delicious.
