The red IDOIA is a blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Garnacha aged in French barriques for one year. The fruit is ripe, black rather than red, with creamy spiciness and better integrated oak than in previous vintages, quite fruit-driven and young. It’s quite perfumed, developing notes of strawberries with time in the glass, and with a juicy palate with fine-grained tannins and moderate acidity. 16,000 bottles produced. Perfect to match with paella, dumplings, Spanish vegetable soup, chicken, fried beef, rice with lotus leaf.

About brand

Ca N'Estruc is a family property located in a unique place, on the side of the Montserrat mountain, in the municipality of Esparreguera (Barcelona). The farm is one of the oldest - documented since 1574 - and has lived in harmony with its environment for centuries. Currently 22 hectares of vineyards are cultivated in this unique place - benefited and sheltered by this magical mountain -, from which a complete range of young and aged wines is made.

Ca N'Estruc is listed as the first winery registered in the DO Catalunya, created in 1999, heir to a winemaking tradition with more than 2,000 years of history.

History

Ca N'Estruc, the “House of the Estruch”, is a property documented since 1574, intimately linked to the family name whose last bearer was Francisco Martí Estruch, grandfather of the current owner of the property, Francisco Martí Badia.

Until the 1960s, the traditional activity was practiced on the farm: agriculture and livestock. In its 40 hectares vineyards, cereals, fruit trees, olive trees and an orchard were cultivated, which was combined with the raising of poultry animals, such as pigs, rabbits and chickens, among others. It was self-sufficient and also had an oil mill, a bread oven, presses and a cellar. With a considerable production, what was not consumed was commercialized in the municipal market of Esparreguera.
